Personal Update 20/9/2021

Posted by Drakonsang - September 20th, 2021

Just thought I'd post an update here...

Sorry if posts are few and far between, due to my college course I have been struggling to be productive. I want to make the most of my time off, most of which will be spent playing video games, watching YouTube and spending time with my family and friends. But when I have art projects looming over my head constantly, it's going to make me want to get it out the way to spend time on what I feel like doing in the moment instead of being productive.

I do not like my art course currently, its very restrictive and one of my frequent tutors does make it any better. They constantly want be to make physical artwork when digital art is my passion (and the thing that will get me higher marks due to my experience with the medium). It's as if they are trying to make me follow fine art as a career choice, without any respect for my choices. But I need the qualifications, so the only thing I can do is get my head down and work through it.

BTW when Madness Project Nexus drops on the 22nd don't expect much...I'll be playing the game for a WHILE, I mean I DID spend 5 hours re-playing the demo on steam. lol

Another thing...

The Madness Combat / Don't Starve crossover comic I was creating (inspired by DarkcircusVoid AKA KitsuneYuki476's work) has been sitting on my PC unfinished since I started it like 3-4 months ago. The reason? I have been developing my art skills and style throughout the summer holidays to try and better myself both as an artist and as a person by posting my art to motivate myself (which is why I started NG and Twitter). This has lead me to go back to my comic and realize how far I've come after only a couple months of regular practice. This progress in quality has been a bit of a double edged sword because now I feel as though the comic is no longer good enough to post, but its also too far to completion to throw it away now (and even if I did start again there's no guarantee that I would see it though to the end). I have already wrote down notes for a shorter 2nd part to this comic that I really want to work on as some point, but there's no point in making the second part without finishing the first one. (each part would be different skits of sort, so no overarching story or anything...though that would be fun to do, I am a mediocre writer)

So I need to come to a conclusion, I either release it as is and have the embarrassment done and over with OR I drag myself into finishing the comic knowing there will be noticeable fluctuation in quality. But one thing's for sure I need to set a deadline otherwise it will never get finished.

Some feedback on this Comic situation would be nice...depends on what you want to see. But I can't help but feel like it's going to disappointment either way.

I'll probably just sit on this for a while, this decisions gonna take a lot of coffee power.
